I don't know if my Node is working correctly or if the issue lies on the cables or my PC. I checked every branch for any unidentified devices or anything (even looking at hidden devices enabled) it just wasn't there. But this didn't help at all with my Port problem, thats when I noticed My Node wasn't even showing in my device manager. So I tried to get them shown by looking for Legacyhardware and let windows make them Ports shown in this screenshot. I had no COM-Ports listed in my device manager. Initially I was looking for my COM-Ports, because they were not shown in my arduino IDE ( Port option was greyed out), that's where I noticed the NodeMCU wasn't even recognized by windows. Interestingly, once I tried to reinstall this driver, it said "there is no device found" when deinstalling.Ĭhecking device manager for unidentified devices etc.

But the CH340G driver told me it was already pre-installed, which I guess is normal, since windows 10 appearently automatically installs this driver, once I connect the Node to the PC (I didn't had a pop-up or anything though, so I am quite confused about that one). The USB to UART driver installed without problems. I installed them both (even in no driver signature enforcement mode). So I guess the cable works as intended? I tried 4 different cables now, neither works with the Node.Ĭhecking for missing drivers: My initial google troubleshoot told me to check for 2 drivers: The USB to UART and CH340G drivers. The phone gets promptly recognized and I can move files around. Verifying my USB cable works: I used my cell phone cable used for charging and hooked up my Phone to my PC. What I already tried to solve this issue: The blue LED on the board shortly lights up and shuts off permanently, which is normal afaik, so I guess the board works just fine. When hooked up via mini-USB to USB into any of my PC USB 3.0/2.0 ports it won't get recognized by windows 10 (no sound, no pupup, nothing). Today I tried to connect my new NodeMCU to my PC to start on a project I found on the internet. I try to make this as short as possible so here's a tl dr first:
